Abstract

1396014 Mineral mining installations GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 13 July 1972 [14 July 1971] 32802/72 Heading E1F In a mineral mining installation in which a drive chain 13, 14 for a winning machine (not shown) extends alongside a longwall scraper chain conveyor 10 and is driven by a sprocket wheel 15, the wheel 15 and its associated drive means can be displaced with respect to a supporting frame 19 to vary the tension in the chain; the frame 19 being secured, via flanges 20; to an end frame 11 of the conveyor. A gear box 16 drives the wheel 15 and is connected as a structural unit with motor 17 and coupling casing 18; the unit having guide elements 22 slidably located on guides 21, and being displaced by a piston and cylinder unit 23. A bracing beam 25 acts between the conveyor and the frame 19.
