Abstract
1391622 Coated glass fabrics T B A INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS Ltd 9 Feb 1972 6089/72 Addition to 1278484 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] Woven and non-woven glass fibre fabrics sized with an olefin of molecular weight 200 to 5000 preferably a terminally unsaturated polybutylene, are coated on at least one surface with a thermoplastic resin. The size may also comprise an alkylaryl polyether alcohol, a silane, a polysiloxane, gelatin and optionally a cationic lubricant, e.g. a condensation product of a pentamine with mixed long chain fatty acids. The thermoplastic resin may be polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, styrene/acrylonitrile copolymer, styrene/acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer, polyvinyl chloride, polyacetal, polyamide, polyphenylene oxide or polycarbonate. The olefin is preferably applied as a dispersion.
