Abstract

1391365 Apparatus for advancing mine roof support frames; mine roof supports; mining machines SALZGITTER MASCHINEN AG 24 July 1972 [3 Aug 1971] 34541/72 Headings E1E E1F and E1P A coal cutting machine 2, 4 mounted on tracks 1 is provided with telescopic arms 14 adapted to advance a frame 9' from the rear to a forward position to which end the arms 14 are (a) pivotally connected to the machine and to the frame and (b) are advanced by a hydraulically displaceable rack and a segmental toothed gear mechanism. To allow the rearmost frame 9' to be drawn through the existing frames 9 the props of the frame are connected to the roof bar thereof by a hinge joint, see Fig. 3 (not shown).
