Abstract

1390299 Unscrewing bottle tops CHRONICLE LAM & SONS Ltd 5 Feb 1973 5633/73 Heading B3N] Also in Division B8] A device for use in removing bottle and other closures of the kind having a circular peripherally knurled section comprises a body member 1 and a member 8 carried thereby which member has a thin, straight, inner edge (three edges 12, 13, 14 in the particular embodiment) for gripping a knurled closure so that rotation of the body causes rotation of the closure. As shown there are four members 8 made from sheet metal resiliently biased into a U-shaped configuration. The body member has its interior stepped similarly to the members 8 to cater for different sized closures. The body member has a cup-shaped metal member 7 fitted closely thereover. It has a hole in its top which is shaped to allow crown corks to be removed.
