Abstract

138,606. Canhac, G. E. Feb. 4, 1919, [Convention date]. Addition to 5391/15. Water-tube boilers.-In an element consisting of two vertical rows of oppositely inclined tubes connected to front and rear headers and communicating with a lower Belleville section, as described in the parent Specification, the rows of tubes open into separate front and rear headers and communicate with separate tubes of the Belleville elements, so as to provide two independent paths between the feed collector and the steam drum. The coils of a doublecoil Belleville sections 1, 3 open at their upper ends into front and rear headers 11, 12, which are connected by the rows of oppositely inclined tubes 13, 14 to rear and front headers 15, 16, respectively. The headers 15, 16 are connected to the steam drum through a junction piece 17. The Belleville section may be replaced by groups of tubes connected to front and rear chambers so partitioned that the water circulates in the same manner as in the Belleville section. The rows of inclined tubes may be divided into two or more superposed groups, the groups progressively increasing in height towards the top of the element. A superheater may be fitted between the groups of tubes.
