Abstract

1383420 Centrifugal blowers TORIN CORP 11 May 1972 [22 Sept 1971] 22154/72 Heading F1C A blower assembly comprises an impeller 18 having backwardly inclined blades 34 and a front shroud 32 in sealing relationship at 36 and 38 with a transverse partition 26 which affords a circular inlet opening 28. The air discharged by the impeller is diverted into the axial direction towards a discharge opening 22 having a cross-sectional area at least half that of the inlet 28. The electric driving motor 50 is supported by four diagonal struts (51), Fig. 4 (not shown), and preferably cooled by vanes 46. Casing 10, of preferably rectangular shape, may contain two chambers 12, (14), separated by a partition 16, with a blower assembly in each chamber. A filter 24 spans both chambers. The blowers may be used for cooling computer circuit boards 30.
