Abstract
1380371 Hydraulic control circuits HARNISCHFEGER CORP 23 Feb 1973 [24 Feb 1972] 8928/73 Heading F1P In the circuit shown, Fig. 2, when only one of the two rams 22, 24 is being extended pressure fluid is supplied from a pump 44, whereas when both rams are being extended fluid is supplied from pumps 42 and 44. Rams 22, 24 are respectively controlled by valves 54, 52 provided with operating levers 88, 82. With a valve 48 in the position shown, fluid from pump 42 returns to a reservoir 67, whilst fluid from pump 44 passes to valve manifold 50 and then either to reservoir 76 or to one of the rams for extending it, or to both rams for retraction. If the valves 52, 54, are operated to extend both rams simultaneously, the pressure rise in lines 106, 108 is sufficient when added together at inlet 62 to move the valve 48 against a spring 60 thereby connecting the output of the pump 42 to the line 68 as well as that of pump 44. Adjustable throttles 110, 112 are provided in lines 106, 108 to balance the flow therein. As described the rams are used in a telescopic boom for a crane or earth-working machine.
