Abstract

1379374 Circumcision instruments M HONJYO 16 March 1973 12798/73 Heading A5R A circumcision instrument comprises a flat base 1 carrying a forked lever 5 and having a recess into which fits a disc 2 provided with an opening adapted to receive a tube 3 having a flared skirt 3A, a flange 4 being screwed on the tube and positioned to abut the forked portion 5B of the lever. In use, the tube 3 is placed adjacent the base of the penis to be circumcised and the skin L is radially pulled out and secured over the skirt L by a copper wire 9. The parts 1, 2, 5 and 4 are then positioned as shown in Fig. 1 and nut 7 screwed down so that the lever 5 pivots about the fulcrum 5A and the skin L is crushed between skirt 3A and edge 2A of disc 2. The skin is then cut away with a scalpel.
