Abstract

1378294 Ear protector COSMOCORD Ltd 6 Nov 1972 [5 Nov 1971] 51485/71 Heading A3V [Also in Divisions A5 and H4] An ear defender has sound absorbent material 24 (Fig. 2) in the space 23 between inner and outer shells 20, 11. The outer shell 11 has an aperture 13 (Fig. 3) closed by a cover 15, preferably part spherical and containing sound absorbent material. The cover 15 is secured to the outer shell 11 by interfitting portions such as sector shaped protrusions 14, 14' on the outer shell 11 and hooked sectorial portions 16, 16' on the cover 15. Protrusions 14, 14' and portions 16, 16' are engaged and disengaged by relative rotation of the cover 15 and outer shell 11. The ear defender may be fixed to supporting headgear by providing the outer shell with an inwardly expanding portion into which may be -snapped a ball-ended member fixed to the headgear.
