Abstract

1377691 Porous ceramics FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 3 Jan 1973 [14 Jan 1972] 1928/72 Headings C1J and C1A A porous ceramic is obtained by impregnating an organic foam with an inorganic suspension, removing excess suspension by squeezing between two pieces of non-impregnated foam, drying and firing. A polyurethane foam is impregnated with a suspension of filler, e.g. SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , mullite, clays, syenite, zircon; a binder, e.g. H 3 Pe 4 , AlPe 4 , Al hydroxychloride, SiO 2 or Al 2 O 3 Sel; dispersant, e.g. A.M. hexametaphosphate or quat. salt; defoamer, e.g. silicone or alcohol of high M.W.
