Roller apparatus.-In roller mills for mixing, grinding, sheeting, and warming rubber, and in similar apparatus, the front and back rollers are separately driven from independent variable sources of power, so that their relative speeds may be altered. The front and back rollers of a series of mills may be driven in the same manner. As shown, an electric motor A drives the back roller D through double helical gear B and a pinion E engaging a wheel on the roller shaft, while the front roller D' is similarly driven from a motor A'.
