Abstract

1375031 Conveyers for unloading agricultural feeders ARCHIE KIDD Ltd 9 Feb 1972 [10 Feb 1971] 4329/71 Headings B8A and B8E A box 4 for dispensing forage comprises a floor conveyer 2, two beater drums 8, 10; and a driven roller 12 provided between the drum 8 and a discharge belt conveyer 6. The drums 8, 10 have tines 16 with forwardly inclined teeth and a scraper 14 for the roller 12 has a sealing strip for engagement with the belt 6. In use, forage moved towards the drums 8, 10 by the floor conveyer 2 is carried up and, due to centrifugal force, flies off the drums on to the roller 12 and then on to the conveyer 6 which delivers the feed from either side of the box 4, depending on the direction in which the conveyer is driven. There may be more than two beater drums. There is stated to be a gain in height at which feed may be delivered, compared with conventional arrangements.
