Abstract

1374670 Contact lenses E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 9 June 1972 [11 June 1971] 27027/72 Heading G2J [Also in Division C3] Contact lenses are constructed from copolymers of 10-70 per cent by weight methyl methacrylate and 30-90 per cent by weight of at least one methacrylate ester of a fluoro-alcohol, and have a refractive index of 1À36 to 1À45, a Knoop hardness of 5 to 16, a tensile modulus of 50,000 to 250,000 p.s.i., a permeability to O 2 and CO 2 of at least 1,000 centibarrers and not more than 5 per cent by weight water content. The lens may be a corneal or scleral contact lens. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1254567.
