Abstract
1374161 Laminates MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 2 Feb 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 4986/72 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Laminates are prepared by first impregnating glass cloth with an adhesive comprising: epoxy resin, a curing agent (e.g. dicyandiamide) which alone would be ineffective to impart heat resistance to the cured resin at 175-215‹ C., and as additional curing agent an aromatic dicyanate, e.g. bisphenol A dicyanate. In an example glass cloth is coated with such a composition, continuous 100 micron boron filaments were placed between the resin film and a self supporting film of the same resin composition to yield a flexible product. A 15-ply laminate was prepared curing under 6 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP>/175‹ C. followed by post cures at up to 215‹ C. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,218,446.
