Abstract

1372588 Sheet forming H S BOTHAM 26 June 1972 [4 June 1971] 29580/71 Heading B5A Apparatus for forming plastics -magnetic signs, e.g. for attachment to the sides of motor vehicles, comprises a lid 2 with a heater element 6, lamp 7 and transparent panel 9, a perforate bed 4 and a chamber 3 beneath the bed. In operation strips 22, 23 of plastics bonded magnetized material together with relief moulding letters 21 are laid on the perforate bed, and a sheet 24 of, e.g. P.V.C. is laid over the top. Lid 2 is then closed and the heater 6 switched on. When the sheet 24 is seen to sag, a suction fan 18 is actuated and the sheet is drawn over the letters 21 and into engagement with the strips 22, 23. After cooling, the sheet 24 with the strips 22, 23 bonded thereto is removed.
