Abstract
1368334 Ball-and-ring mills, roller-and-ring mills CARLE & MONTANARI SpA 21 Oct 1971 [10 July 1971] 49014/71 Addition to 1277166 Heading B2A A mill comprises rollers 14 mounted on a cylindrical rotor in a tubular casing and having sharp - cornered circumferentially - extending grooves 15 on their outer surfaces. The grooves may be spirally arranged, or may be in the form of parallel annular grooves, The grooves have side walls shaped so that its grinding surfaces contacting the casing do not increase substantially in area with wear and have sharp edges which are continuously self sharpening during rolling. Rows of balls or smooth rollers may be arranged among rows of grooved rollers. The rollers include hubs 6a supported by forks 5' having seats 5a to permit withdrawal and replacement of worn rollers.
