Abstract

1367489 Ladder support F PARKINS 20 Sept 1972 [14 Sept 1971] 42678/71 Heading E1S A support for the foot of a ladder comprises a triangular flat base 1 having three support feet 2a, 2b, 2c at its apices and an abutment 4 parallel with one side of the triangle on its top face for receiving and locating the lower ends of the side members 10a of a ladder inclined against a structure, and an upright strut 7 mounted on the base or on an arm 6 extending from the apex opposite the abutment 4 and perpendicularly thereto, which strut has means 8 at its upper end for receiving a rung 10b of the ladder. The abutment 4 may be an L-section bar having longitudinally adjustable stops 5 for engaging the outer faces of the side members 10a, and the strut 7 may be telescopic.
