Abstract

1366039 Ammunition L C SMITH 4 May 1973 [19 May 1972] 23657/72 Heading F3A [Also in Division A5] A hypodermic bullet comprises a plug 18, Fig. 1, sealing a needle 6, the plug being displaced by the flow of liquid 10 upon impact of the bullet with a target. The liquid is driven by an inertia piston 12 or by its own momentum if contained in a bag 20, Fig. 2. The nose, at least of the bullet is made of collapsible material so that only the needle enters the target. If desired, the end 6A of the needle can be concealed within the nose 4 and only projects beyond the nose when the latter collapses on impact with the target.
