Abstract

1364748 Delivering sheets ROLAND OFFSETMASCHINENFABRIK FABER & SCHLEICHER AG 21 July 1972 [23 July 1971] 34278/72 Heading B8R Sheets delivered from a printing-machine by grippers 10, Figs. 1 and 2, on a chain conveyer 2 are transferred from the grippers 10 to a take-off gripper 4 following a curved path 17 so as to release a sheet 1 or to a stack 3 on a descending pile board 8 between front and rear stops 6, 7, the sheet being held taut by a retarding suction roller 5 engaging its rear end. The gripper 4 is provided with a vertical motion by pivoting about an axis 20 under the control of a cam 22 and a horizontal motion by pivoting about an axis 21 under the control of a cam 27 so as to move at the same speed as the gripper 10 during transfer and then to decelerate before releasing the sheet. The gripper 10 is opened under the control of a stationary cam 16 and the gripper 4 is opened and closed under the control of stationary cams 18, 13 acting on a roller 12 connected to the gripper finger 11 through a lever 40 and rod 42.
