Abstract
1363692 Benzothiazolylacetic acid derivatives TOKYO TANABE CO Ltd 1 Aug 1972 [3 Aug 1971] 35949/72 Heading C2C Compounds I in which R is α-naphthyl, phenyl, or substituted phenyl; the latter two groups being represented by the Formula II in which A and B are H, OH, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, halo or di(1-4C alkyl)amino; and Z is H or a cation, are prepared by reaction of an aldehyde RCHO with bis-(2-amino-4- carboxymethylphenyl)disulphide or a salt thereof. Compounds I, in which R is α-naphthyl or a Group II wherein either or both of A and B is 1-4C alkoxy, are claimed per se. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a compound I together with a suitable carrier and have anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activity.
