Abstract
1363526 Modified clay ENTERPRISE DE RECHERCHES ET D'ACTIVITIES PETROLIERES (ELF) 1 Nov 1971 [3 Nov 1970] 50671/71 Heading C1A [Also in Division C3] An activated clay (bentonite), used to react with enzymes to produce enzyme-clay complexes is obtained by treatment of the clay with a cyanogen or cyanuric halide (e.g. chloride). The treatment may comprise suspending the clay in an organic solvent solution of the halide (e.g. in CCl4, CHCl3 or dioxane) and then separating the activated clay from the organic solution.
