Abstract

1360481 Lamps JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 14 Feb 1972 [1 March 1971] 5677/71 Heading F4R A lamp comprises an elliptical reflector 14 with a light source 17 at one focus, the reflector being associated with a housing 15 having an aperture 16 at the other focus; a mirror 18 in front of the housing reflects an image of the aperture on to a parabolic reflector 13 which produces a forwardly directed light beam of cross-sectional shape similar to that of the aperture. The mirror 18 may be a metallized region on an otherwise transparent cover 12, and may be plane, or of a convex or concave shape. The source 17 may be a tungsten halogen bulb, the aperture 16 being of rectangular cross-section. The lamp may be a vehicle lamp.
