Abstract

1359921 Coating apparatus STATNI VYZKUMNY USTAV KOZEDELNY 17 April 1972 17515/72 Heading B2L Coating apparatus comprises a coating roller 16 and a feed roller 5 on parallel axes and an edge guide 8 for the workpiece which is movable parallel to the axes of the rollers to vary the width of the coated strip applied to the edge of the workpiece or the position of a strip having the width of the roller away from said edge. Coating material is stored in a container 30 and passes on to the upper surface of the roller from a valve or tap 34. A doctor blade is provided to determine the thickness of the coating. The feed roller 5 is mounted in a pivotable arm 3 which can be downwardly urged by a pedal (not shown) acting through a chain 21. The pressure of the feed roller is obtained from a spring 17 and is adjustable by a nut 18. The position of the guide 8 is determined by an eccentric 13 rotatable by means of a calibrated nut (not shown).
