Abstract

135,557. Rateau, A. Nov. 6, 1917, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-To maintain the proportion of air to fuel constant, the air supply is controlled by devices sensitive respectively to the pressure and temperature of the surrounding air. The choke tube a of the carburettor encloses, at its constricted portion b, a smaller choke tube c to which fuel is supplied through a pipe d. The air inlet of the smaller choke tube is controlled by a plug f actuated through linkages i, j, k, h by a pressure-sensitive device m and temperaturesensitive device n. The plug f may be at the outlet end of the tube c, or the latter may be moved bodily by the sensitive devices. The air may be supplied under pressure by a fan. In a modification, the plug is replaced by a butterfly valve in a branch of the choke tube b. In a further modification, the pressure and temperature sensitive devices are formed in one etructure.
