Abstract

1353868 Securing wash-basins &c J S ROBERTS 11 May 1972 22150/72 Heading A4N A method of securing a wash-basin or sink in a laminate surface comprises the steps of forming an aperture in the laminate, forming a recess (11), Fig. 1 (not shown), in the underside of the laminate to receive the wash-basin rim 12; moulding an edging on the walls of the recess from liquid impervious synthetic resin, and clamping the wash-basin 9 into the recess by clamps 6, with a layer of caulking 8 between the basin rim 12 and the recess surface. The edging may be coloured, and may be keyed on to the laminate by a tongue (4a), Fig. 2 (not shown), which engages a groove in the laminate.
