Abstract
1351505 Norpinane derivatives SOC BERRIBALZAC 6 July 1971 [29 July 1970] 31562/71 Heading C2C Novel norpinane derivatives of the general formula wherein each of R 1 and R 2 is an alkyl group or R 1 R 2 N is a heterocyolic group containing a single nitrogen atom, R 3 is an alkenyl, aralkyl or aroylalkyl group, the aryl and aroyl moieties being optionally substituted by 1-3 substituents selected from alkyl and alkoxy groups and halogen atoms, and X is a halogen atom, are prepared by quaternizing a compound of the general formula with a halide of the general formula R 3 X or, when X is a chlorine atom, by percolating a solution of the corresponding bromide through an anion exchange resin in OH form and neutralizing the solution eluted from the column with hydrochloric acid. Pharmaceutical compositions having musculotropic, spasmolytic and anticholinergic neurotropic activity comprise, as active ingredient, a norpinane derivative of the first general formula above, together with a therapeutically administrable vehicle, and may be administered orally, topically, rectally or parenterally.
