Abstract
1351154 Dust precipitators DNODA CEMENT CO Ltd and S MASUDA 23 July 1971 [1 Aug 1970] 34655/71 Heading B2J Dust collecting apparatus comprises a webtype electrostatic discharge chamber 18 and an outlet 28 heated by combustion gases. Dust laden gas passes through a spray drier tower 47, a duct 85, a porous plate 2 and dust collecting stages 3, 4 18. The stages 3, 4 have plane electrodes 6 and wire corona discharge weighted wires 9 fed by a high voltage D.C. source 7. Dust collects in hoppers 13, 14 and is removed by a conveyor 16. The stage 18 has plane electrodes 6<SP>1</SP> continuously washed by water from nozzles 26 supplied by a pump 24. The electrodes 91 are of negative polarity. Slurry is colected in a hopper 27. Purified gas is heated by heavy oil combustion means 77 under the control of temperature control means 78, 80 and passes to a chimney 29. A precipitation accelerator is added to the slurry through a nozzle 31 and the water passes to a tank 33. The slurry passes through valves 35, 36 to a centrifugal separator 48 and is then sprayed by an air compressor 53 down into the tower 47 where it dries and collects in a hopper 52. The tower walls are vibrated by means 84. In a modification, the tower 47 is replaced by a multi-cyclone apparatus 57, Fig. 2, and an agitating drier 40 containing slurry. In further modifications, all the stages are of the wet type and a bag filter is provided up-stream.
