Abstract

1350044 Metal melting furnaces W STRIKFELDT & KOCH GmbH 17 Jan 1972 2107/72 Heading F4B A melting furnace 3 divided into interconnected sections has a melting trough 5 disposed between chambers 1 heated by burners 2 so that opposite sides 6 are heated from said chambers 1 or by flues 3, the charge material being introduced through space 7. In a modification (Figs. 6 and 7) an additional melting chamber (12) with a hearth sloping towards the metal bath is built outwardly from one side of the furnace opposite the melting trough (5). The waster gases from the chambers 1 pass to this additional chamber which also has a side charging gate (15).
