Abstract

1349530 Pouring devices; container closures DANIEL MONTGOMERY & SON Ltd 20 Sept 1972 [22 Sept 1971] 44090/71 Headings B8X and B8T A pouring device comprises a diaphragm structure 1 attachable across the neck of a bottle, a central pouring tube 4 and a separate offset air vent tube 5. The pouring tube has a closed end 7 with peripheral ports 8 and the vent tube terminates in an aperture 11 of reduced cross-section. In the embodiment shown the diaphragm is formed with an annular groove 12 and ridge 14 for receiving and engaging the end of the bottle neck. The air vent tube is formed by two arcuate walls 17, 18, centred on the axis of the pouring tube, and end walls 19 and debouches into an annular channel 16 formed in the diaphragm.
