Abstract
1348675 Concrete blocks; mine roof supports BRITISH ROPES Ltd 9 June 1972 [4 Aug 1971] 36707/71 Headings E1B and E1E In a concrete block re-inforced with a fibrous material the cross-section considered in a plane parallel to the upper and lower surfaces thereof is variable as by the provision of slots or grooves 1, 6 Fig. 2, and a hollow intermediate portion B which may be subdivided by partitions 7. The block may be elliptical or circular and provided with castellations 9, Fig. 5. The term concrete includes foamed cementitious material and aggregates bonded with a synthetic resin and the fibres may be natural or man-made. For further details of concretes employed and the fibres together with suitable mixtures thereof the Specification should be referred to. The blocks are used in yielding wire arch support pillars and for modified shapes thereof and their interstacking the Specification and remaining drawings (not shown) should be referred to.
