Abstract
1348460 Preparation of 5/6-acyl-benzimidazolyl-alkyl carbamates CHINOIN GYOGYSZER ES VEGYESZETI TERMEKEK GYARA RT 4 Oct 1972 [6 Oct 1971] 45830/72 Heading C2C Compounds of formula and salts thereof (wherein R represents C 1-4 alkyl; R 1 represents a C 1-4 alkyl group or a phenyl group optionally substituted by one or more substituents selected from halogen atoms, C 1-4 alkyl or alkoxy groups, and the R 1 -CO group is bound to the benzimidazole ring at positions 5 or 6) are prepared by reacting a compound of formula or a salt thereof (wherein R<SP>1</SP> is as defined above) with a compound of formula (wherein R is as defined above). The intermediates of Formula III may be obtained by treating a chloroformate ester with calcium cyanamide.
