Abstract

1346865 Coating apparatus; mixing apparatus; nozzles SPRIBAG AG 15 Feb 1972 [4 March 1971 21 Jan 1972] 6859/72 Headings B1C B2F and B2L [Also in Division El] Apparatus for mixing and discharging coating material on to a surface comprises a rigid pipe 56 with a flexible tube 72 mounted therein and radially spaced therefrom and means for pneumatically feeding dry particulate material into the flexible tube where it is mixed with water from jets 66, the flexible tube being radially distendable under the flow of material to mix the mass. Annular collars 70 may be provided to allow for increased radial movement. Several types of nozzles may be used on the end of the tube 56 or the tube may be used without a nozzle. One type (Fig. 3) has a baffle plate 34 held: in place by a set screw 35 and has an angle so that the mixture changes direction. In a modification the angle is omitted. A further type of nozzle (Fig. 6) has a chamber 40 into which the mixture is fed in a tangential direction to produce a swirling action. A baffle plate 43 which may be disc shaped or conical is provided. In a modification of this nozzle the angled portion is omitted and the mixture is fed directly from the pipe 56 into the tube 31.
