Abstract

1344112 Boring bars UKRAINSKY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT STANKOV I INSTRUMENTOV 27 Oct 197149863/71 Heading B3C A boring bar comprises a body 1, Fig. 1, a calibrated nut 2 screwed on to the body, a tool holder 3 mounted on a pin 7 in a slot 4 in the body, and urged by a spring 9 so that a surface 11 of the tool holder is in engagement with the nut. Rotation of nut 2 varies the cutting diameter of tool 6. In a modification, nut (13) Fig. 2 (not shown) has an insert (12). In a further modification, arm 17, Fig. 4, pivots about a pivot 31 and a surface 21 of the arm co-operates with a surface 19 on the nut insert 20, a roller 24 between the surfaces being provided.
