Abstract
1340333 Sinking oil on the surface of water INTERNATIONAL SYNTHETIC RUBBER CO Ltd 15 Sept 1971 [19 June 1970] 29945/70 Heading C1C A method of sinking oil on the surface of water comprises applying (e.g. by spraying) to the oil a dispersion of a mineral filler (e.g. silica, clay, whiting or calcium silicate) in a latex of an oil-absorbing rubber. The rubber may be styrene-butadiene, butyl, butadiene-styrene-acrylate and ethyl-propylene rubbers, polybutadiene, polyisoprene and polyisobutylene.
