Abstract

1,238,182. Rackets. DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd. 3 March, 1969 [8 March, 1968], No. 11311/68. Heading A6D. The head of a racket frame consists of a hollow tube 2 formed with a flange 3 which extends inwards towards the centre of the head. The flange has slots 4 along its length, the length of these slots varying according to their position on the racket head. A crenellated string-retaining member 5 of the same length as the flange and bent to its shape is formed so that alternate crenellations 6 project through the slots in the flange, while the remaining ones 7 rest against the flange the racket is strung by passing a string 8 through one loop, along the flange, back through the next loop, and then across the face of the racket to pass through a loop on the opposite side. The tube 2 has an external diameter of 0.3 inch and the flange is 0.15 inch wide. The slots are between 0.2 and 0.6 inch long.
