Abstract

1,237,127. Laminated roofing material. D. ANDERSON & SON Ltd. 18 April, 1969 [19 April, 1968], No. 18595/68. Heading B5N. A roofing material consists of a water resistant layer 1 secured to a layer of heat insulating material 2, in which the water resistant layer is provided with a number of perforations which are each formed in a projection on the surface of the layer remote from the heat insulating material so that the layer acts as a breathing layer whereby any water vapour present underneath or in the insulating material may pass through the water resistant layer, but the passage of rain or snow down through the layer is resisted. The water resistant material may have a fibrous, asbestos or glass tissue base, or may comprise a plastics film, waterproof paper or a bitumen impregnated roofing material, all of which may incorporate a woven reinforcement. The insulating material may be of glass fibres, polyurethane, wood wool or strawboard.
