[Also in Division G4] A machine for playing a game of chance resembling lotto includes means for selecting at random a sequence of numbers, means for detecting identity between a selected number and one of a set of numbers previously allocated to a player, and means for indicating when a predetermined quantity of such identities has occurred. Fig. 1 illustrates a means for allocating a set of fifteen numbers to be displayed on a panel 124. Two switching drums 120, 121 provided with studs 123 which operate switches 122, one for each number from one to ninety, rotate independently for random periods of time. For each position at which the drums come to rest, a different set of fifteen switches will be closed. Fig. 2 illustrates a means for selecting a sequence of random numbers. It comprises a non-constant repetitive timer 127, a gated pulse generator 129, units and tens pulse counters 131, 134, ninety 'AND' gates 136 and latching units 137 corresponding to the numbers one to ninety, and a display panel 139. Each number on the panel 139 is also connected to its corresponding switch 122 (shown in detail at 147) so that when identity occurs a lamp 126 lights below the corresponding number on the panel 124. An output from each switch is also fed to an 'AND' gate 153 which is arranged to emit a current whenever any fifteen of its input lines 152 are live. This current operates a prize-releasing mechanism. Further circuitry to avoid malfunction due to spurious pulses may be included. The circuitry associated with ends of the ninety numbers may be constructed on a plug-in module.
