Abstract
1,236,545. Rotary oil bunrers. ISHIKAWAJIMA-HARIMA JUKOGYO K.K. 5 Feb., 1970 [5 Feb., 1969], No. 5500/70. Heading F4T. In an oil burner, a rotatably mounted plate 1 having circumferential teeth is located within a burner ring 6 so that the spaces between the ring and the teeth form passages 18, fuel oil is supplied to form a film on the plate by means of a fuel supply pipe 12, and a stream of air passes through the passages to contact and atomize the film of fuel oil on the teeth. In Fig. 1, fuel is supplied along a rotary shaft 2 from a fuel supply pipe 12 to ejection holes 10 on the plate, the fuel spreading over the plate by centrifugal force. Air is supplied by a duct 5 to a wind box 4, and flows at high speed through the passages 18, contacting and atomizing the film of fuel at the edge 17 of the plate.
