Abstract

1,233,700. Retractible ball-point pens. FABRIQUE SUISSE DE CRAYONS CARAN D'ACHE S.A. 19 Dec., 1969 [30 Dec., 1968], No. 62151/69. Heading B6P. A retractable ball-point pen comprises a rotatable actuating button 11 fixed against axial movement and connected to a rod 23 carrying a pin 28 which engages a helicoidal surface (26, Fig. 3) formed on a non-rotatable, axially movable bush 12 which itself engages an ink reservoir cartridge 37 or 8 biased by a spring (10) to retracted position. The helicoidal surface ends in a notch to hold the cartridge in projected position. The bush 12 is fixed against rotation by tongues 15 fixed to the pin barrel and engaging in slots 14 of the bush 12.
