Abstract
1,227,728. Solanidenes; solanidienes. OSTERREICHISCHE STICKSTOFFWERKE A.G. 10 Feb., 1969 [5 March, 1968], No. 7176/69. Heading C2U. Novel compounds of formula (wherein X-Y is and Z is = CO, = CNOH, =CH(NRR<SP>1</SP>-α), = CH(NRR<SP>1</SP>-#), =CH(OR<SP>11</SP>-α) or = CH(OR<SP>11</SP>-#) where R and R<SP>1</SP> are each H or alkyl and R<SP>11</SP> is H or an acyl group derived from an aliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid, and wherein when Z is CO or CNOH and X-Y is saturated there may be a #<SP>4</SP>-double bond) are prepared from the corresponding 22(23)-enes by the action of heat. The 22(23)-ene starting compounds are prepared as described in Specification 1,226,503.
