Abstract

1,225,623. Glass runs; spring clips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. 11 June, 1968 [12 June, 1967], No. 27096/67. Addition to 837,416. Headings E1J and E2B. The combination claimed in parent Specification is modified by the spring fastener 11 for securing the flexible strip member 21 in the rigid walled channel 25 of a glass run which fastener has formed, in at least one of its limbs, a pair of oppositely directed arms 15, 16, or 15a, 16a, ending in claws 17, 18, or 17a, 18a, each said claw being formed by inwardly bending an end portion of an arm about an axis perpendicular to the web so that each said end portion constitutes a claw bent inwardly of the U-shaped fastener, the said one limb being formed also with a prong 19, 19a, 20 or 20a directed outwardly and away from the web, the inner member 21 being less rigid than and embraced by the unstressed fastener so that the claws penetrate the member 21 and prevent it moving lengthwise in the fastener and when the fastener and member 21 are pushed into the channel 25 the limbs of the fastener are moved together and the claws further penetrate the member 21 and the prongs 19, 19a, 20, 20a engage the walls of the channel member.
