Abstract

1,223,720. Animal foodstuffs comprising quinoxaline dioxides IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 16 Sept., 1969 [30 Oct., 1968], No. 51473/68. Heading A5B An animal foodstuff composition comprises a quinoxaline derivative of formula: wherein, when R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are H, R<SP>3</SP> is H, halogen or methyl and R<SP>4</SP> is H or methyl; or when R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are methyl, R<SP>3</SP> is bromine and R<SP>4</SP> is H, together with a substantially solid edible carrier. Compounds having the above general formula wherein R<SP>3</SP> is halogen instead of bromine are used in a method of promoting the growth of domestic animals. The animal foodstuffs may contain anthelmintics such as tetramisole, pyrantel tartrate, thiobendazole or piperazine; coccidiostats such as methyl benzoquate, meticlorpindol, 3, 5-dinitro-o-toluamide, 3, 5-dinitrobenzamide, amprolium or decoquinate or antibiotics such as bacitracin, oleandomycin or virginiamycin.
