Abstract

1,208,539. Rollers. ARTOS DR. ING. MEIER WINDHORST K.G. 20 Aug., 1969 [23 Aug., 1968], No. 41465/69. Heading F2U. A squeeze roller for treating textiles consists of an outer jacket tube 5 rigidly secured to an inner carrier tube or rod 1 over a short central zone 6, the tubes being mounted in end bearings 2, 11 carried by crosspieces 12 to which transverse loading 4 can be applied by hydraulic or pneumatic means through axially movable bearings 13, to vary the relative loadings on the bearings 2,11 to provide a more uniform pressure loading along the length of the roller.
