Abstract

1,208,454. Drying cans. BEECHAM GROUP Ltd. 31 July, 1968 [2 Aug., 1967], No. 35544/67. Heading F4G. Cans 6 are dried by rolling them on table 1 covered with absorbent material 1A (e.g. asbestos or fibre-glass), the material being heated by steam heated chamber 3 to remove moisture from it and to sterilize it. Steam heated guide jackets 2 are provided at the sides of the cans. Belt systems 6A, 6B, 6C press the cans on the table 1 and roll them along it. System 6A consists of one belt and each of systems 6B, 6C consists of a pair of belts, the belts of each pair being spaced transversely of the table, and the spacing being different for each pair. The table is mounted on adjustable legs 9.
