A pharmaceutical composition, for the treatment of mental disorders involving a marked depressive mood, contains protriptyline and perphenazine in a weight ratio of from 5:4 to 10:1. The compositions may contain an inert carrier and are preferably administered orally. The compositions may be unit dosage form, e.g. tablets, capsules, liquid suspensions or elixirs.
