Abstract
1,205,094. Salt of zinc chelate of diethylenetriaminepenta acetic acid. COOPER LABORATORIES Inc. 20 Nov., 1968 [21 Nov., 1967], No. 55029/68. Addition to 1,152,650. Heading C2C. Novel trisodium or tripotassium salts of the zinc chelate of diethylenetriaminepenta-acetic acid and hydrates thereof are prepared by reaction of the alkali metal hydroxide, the diethylenetriaminepenta-acetic acid and zinc acetate in the appropriate proportions followed by crystallization. Pharmaceutical compositions in conventional forms for oral or parenteral administration and used for treating hypertension comprise an above novel compound and a carrier or diluent therefor.
