Abstract

1,201,749. Lifting clamps. DEEWELD Ltd. 6 June, 1969, No. 28679/69. Addition to 1,071,759. Heading B8H. In a lifting clamp, Fig. 1, the fixed and movable jaws 17, 18, in their gripping positions are symmetrically arranged with respect to a body 13 and are formed to define a space 40 wherein the head of a rail is gripped with its under surfaces resting on surfaces 36, 38. The movable jaw is closed by a spring-loaded link attached to a lifting ring 10 and is held open by a pawl 26 as described in Specification 1,071,759 and 1,108,528. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates an embodiment in which serrated plates are provided on the projecting jaw parts for lifting sheet materials.
