Abstract
1,201,623. Shift reaction. AMERICAN CYANAMID CO. 29 Sept., 1967 [23 Aug., 1967; 4 Oct., 1968], No. 44540/67. Heading C1A. The water gas shift reaction is effected by passing CO and water vapour below 150‹ C. over a catalyst containing CuO, Pd, and Cl<SP>1</SP> ions homogeneously dispersed throughout an inert porous support, the catalyst having been prepared by impregnating the inert support with a solution comprising copper ions, palladium ions and chloride ions, and thereafter drying and calcining the thus-impregnated support. Examples describe the comparative evaluation of catalysts for CO removal from gas mixtures at various temperatures and relative humidities.
