Abstract

1299714 I.C. engine crank-cases PERKINS ENGINES Ltd 4 March 1970 [28 March 1969] 16286/69 Heading F1B A cover 4, e.g. a sump, is carried by an elastomeric, e.g. rubber, interlay 9 attached, e.g. bonded, to the cover and a frame 3 detachably mounted on the crank-case 1. A rim 7 on the cover 4 overlaps a flange 6 on the frame 3 so that in the event of failure of the interlay 9 the cover is supported. The interlay may be located between the lower face of the rim and the upper face of the flange, Fig.4 (not shown). These faces may be chamfered, Fig.3 (not shown). The frame (11), Fig.2 (not shown), may be located inwardly of the cover.
