Abstract
1296394 Cables PIRELLI GENERAL CABLE WORKS Ltd 30 Jan 1970 [7 Feb 1969] 6783/69 Heading H1A The wires or wire layers of a Milliken type cable, such as described in Specification 412,017, are coated with thin films of aluminium or aluminium alloy to provide a high interfacial resistance between adjacent wires and layers. The aluminium coatings may be applied by spraying or hot-dipping, by transference from an aluminium block by means of a rotary wire brush, or by direct rubbing contact with aluminium in block or powder form. The wires are of copper. The contact resistance of the aluminium may also be modified by heat treatment.
